Ever wonder what it sounds and feels like to be inside an orchestra? Explore and learn alongside professional musicians how the music gets from the printed page to the stage of Penn's Woods Music Festival. A love of music, a willing ear, and a curious mind will allow you to discover and refine your appreciation for masterpieces of Western music, hence exponentially increasing your enjoyment of the live performances in concert. Recorded and live performance illustrations in class will highlight the Festival's 10th Anniversary summer concerts. The 3rd and final class will take you inside the orchestra, where you will be invited to sit next to your favorite instrument during the PWMF orchestra rehearsal, and discover a whole new visual and sonorous viewpoint! Class size is limited to 30.
The titles of the featured music and a complete schedule of performances will be available at mpw.psu.edu
